A cross-functional team from Watts and Valpes in Moirans, France helped ensure the continued manufacturing of the COVID-19 vaccine by rush delivering a replacement actuator to a world player in the pharmaceutical sector.
Upon being notified that vaccine production was at a standstill, the team acted quickly to identify the part within the Valpes inventory, then arranged to have it delivered to the pharmaceutical factory via taxi a journey of roughly 800 km.
The actuator arrived within 24 hours and, following support from Watts local team, was successfully assembled and mounted.
The customer reported its factory was able to resume vaccine production at full speed within several hours.
