Microflex® DUO: flexible solutions even on holiday
In the beautiful setting of the Val di Noto, in the province of Syracuse (Italy), a luxury resort has been realised with individual and independent condominium-managed accommodation and shared services such as a restaurant, swimming pool, reception and much more.
In particular, the innovative Microflex® DUO heating and air conditioning system was integrated into the project to guarantee an optimal climate in each accommodation, combining technology and flexibility and offering guests a unique experience of comfort and well-being.
The project went through several implementation phases. To make each accommodation independent, the designer created a single central heating and cooling unit connected to two inertial storage units of 2,000 litres each. To these devices, whose function is to accumulate thermal energy and release it gradually when necessary, a manifold with 18 outlets was connected, each of which was connected to a Microflex® DUO pipe. In this way, each individual housing was equipped with a heating/air conditioning module and can produce DHW on site, via a three-way valve and a plate heat exchanger.
Why Microflex® DUO
The Microflex® DUO pre-insulated flexible pipe system makes it possible to keep each housing unit independent, allowing guests to adjust the temperature independently according to their own preferences.Microflex® DUO is for heating and cooling systems with a pair of internal PEX-a SDR11 hoses characterised by an oxygen barrier (DIN 4726), suitable for fluids with temperatures -10÷95°C and pressures up to 6 bar.
Installation was quick and easy; this helped reduce construction time and optimise costs. Furthermore, the choice of Microflex® DUO not only reflects a commitment to technological innovation but also a special attention to nature and the landscape with a significant reduction in excavation.
